JAKARTA - All malls in Jakarta have re-opened since yesterday. The facilities inside the mall are arranged in such a way that all visitors apply the COVID-19 prevention protocol.

We tried visiting Kota Kasablanka mall in Kuningan, South Jakarta today. The protocol has been implemented in mall entry access. Masks are mandatory for use while in the mall area.

In the lobby, we were asked to scan the QR-Code board using the feature on each cellphone. This code serves to record the number of incoming visitors. This is because during the transitional PSBB period, visitor capacity is limited by 50 percent.

After scanning, visitors are asked to enter the number of people who will enter the mall via an automatic link in the QR-Code feature. We also received document downloads in the form of instructions for implementing health protocols in the mall.

Hand sanitizing facilities are provided in the lobby. Before entering, officers check the body temperature of each visitor. Visitors with temperatures above 37.5 degrees Celsius are not allowed to enter the mall.

When you enter, the atmosphere in the mall is not that crowded. Understandably, today is a working day. There are warning signs installed throughout the mall, such as escalators and toilets. In addition, a contactless button lift feature has also been added.

Another thing that is applied in Kota Kasablanka is the one-way corridor marker. This system is implemented when the mall is busy, to regulate the flow of visitors and avoid congestion at certain points.

On the same occasion, Minister of Trade Agus Suparmanto and Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan also monitored the readiness of Kota Kasablanka mall. Agus had time to check the condition of the prayer room provided in the mall. Agus said, the COVID-19 protocol was also implemented at the worship facility.

"I saw earlier, the protocol at the prayer room is quite good. This means that it provides comfort and safety for consumers. There needs to be a high awareness of the protocol by visitors," said Agus at the location, Tuesday, June 16.

In addition, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan appreciated the compliance of mall managers in implementing health protocols in their facilities.

"When I entered this mall and had to scan with QRcode, transactions were also cashless, touchless, and I hope this will create a new habit," said Anies.

The public, currently, are being forced to always remember the obligation to prevent the corona virus in shopping centers. However, from this obligation, it creates new opportunities to stick with the application of technology.

"This pandemic condition forces us to take advantage of all the potential that actually exists in us. Hopefully in the future we will be better," he said.

We then toured a number of outets in the mall. There are outlets that implement all protocols such as limiting the number of visitors to 50 percent and checking body temperature.

There are also outlets that haven't implemented the protocol perfectly yet. In one clothing store, we found an accumulation of visitors picking their goods.

If the entry into the mall is required to fill attendance using QR-Code, the exit is slightly relaxed. Many visitors do not perform scans to indicate they have left the mall. Thus, there is no accuracy of visitor data that has left.
