Denpasar District Court Tries The Police Who Is An Intermediary For Drug Sale And Purchase

DENPASAR - A member of the police in Bali named I Gusti Ngurah Menara was tried at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, for being an intermediary in the sale and purchase of narcotics.

"From the defendants, 52 plastic clips were found containing clear crystals containing methamphetamine with a total weight of 84.34 grams net or 97.38 grams gross", said Public Prosecutor Made Ayu Citra Maya Sari in a virtual trial at the District Court. Denpasar, Bali, quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 5.

In this case, the defendant was charged with three articles, namely Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and 115 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 2009 on Narcotics.

In the first indictment, Prosecutor Citra Maya explained that initially the defendant was contacted by a person named Putu (People Search List/DPO) to take a patch of a package of methamphetamine weighing 100 grams on the side of the road in the bushes of Jalan Raya Bypass Ngurah Rai, Sanur, Denpasar City.

Subsequently, the defendant returned to his home at the Cempaka Cluster Residence Housing Banjar Jebaud, Bringkit Belayu Village, Marga District, Tabanan Regency, and broke the methamphetamine package he took into 51 packages and left one plastic clip using an electric scale each weighing one gram weighing 11 packages.

Then 14 packages of methamphetamine weighing 0.4 grams and 26 packages of 0.2 grams and the remaining one plastic clip containing 70 grams of clear crystal that has not been divided.

"The defendant is waiting for orders from someone named Putu (DPO) to put or paste the 51 packages that already exist", he said.

On Saturday, May 8, 2021, at around 11.30 a.m. local time, the defendant was again contacted by telephone by Putu (DPO) to put or stick methamphetamine on the side of the Kerobokan Highway, Banjar Kancil, Kerobokan Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency.

After that, the defendant went to a predetermined location and spread or paste dozens of packages of methamphetamine which had been broken up by the defendant.

The defendant was arrested on May 8 on the edge of Jalan Raya Kerobokan Banjar Campuan, North Kuta District, Badung Regency.

"The defendant admitted that the narcotics were obtained from a person named Putu (DPO) who previously asked the defendant to take a package of methamphetamine weighing 100 grams which was then broken into 51 packages and one package with the aim of being pasted or put back according to Putu's order (DPO)", said the Prosecutor.
