The Family Of The Victims Of The KMP Yunicee Drowning Get Compensation For Jasa Raharja

DENPASAR - Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati or Cok Ace, expressed his gratitude to PT Jasa Raharja and PT Jasa Raharja Putera who provided compensation for the families of the victims of the KMP Yunicee sinking.

Deputy Governor Cok Ace also conveyed his condolences and hoped that the families of the victims would be given courage.

"This is a disaster that we cannot predict, and at that time there were indeed many people crossing to Ketapang because there was a ceremony at Semeru Temple, but hopefully this disaster will also give us a lesson for both ships managers and passengers themselves to be more careful. Be vigilant", said Deputy Governor Cok Ace in a written statement, Thursday, August 5.

"Hopefully, with this compensation, it can be useful for the families of the victims and the victims who are still sick, so that they can be quickly recovered and can carry out their activities as they should", he added.

Meanwhile, the Director of Operations of PT Jasa Raharja Bali Branch, Dewi Aryani Suzana, said the management of PT Jasa Raharja would like to thank you for handling the incident so that compensation for passengers can be distributed.

The symbolic handing over of compensation is also a form of empathy and friendship to the families of KMP Yunicee passengers.

"Direct compensation has been handed over to the passenger's family, through direct visits to pick up the ball, and then the compensation is handed over via transfer", she said.

Dewi Aryani explained that the compensation for the passengers that had been processed was 27 passengers. The total compensation for the death of IDR 862 million has been handed over to the families of 20 passengers.

As stipulated in the provisions of public transport accidents, every victim who dies receives compensation as a form of basic government protection for IDR 50 million, and for victims who are injured in the hospital, overbooking is guaranteed for treatment costs of up to IDR 20 million.

As well as for victims without heirs, compensation for burial costs of IDR 4 million is given. The amount is by the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia No. 15 of 2017.
