SPI Owner In Batu City Named Suspect Of Sexual Violence Against Students

SURABAYA - The case of a sexual violence case at the Selamat Pagi Indonesia (SPI) school in Batu City has been completed at the East Java Police Headquarters. The East Java Police have determined JE, who is the owner and manager of SPI, as a suspect in the case.

"JE's status has increased from witness to suspect," said Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Renakta Ditreskrimum of the East Java Police, AKBP Ali Mahfud, confirmed, Thursday, August 5.

Ali said that the police together with the National Commission for Child Protection (PA) and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) had held a case at the East Java Police Headquarters today. This case was held to find a bright spot for the perpetrators of sexual violence at SPI Batu.

"We will now immediately prepare the completeness of the file. After that, it will be transferred to the prosecutor's office," said Ali.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection (PA), Arist Merdeka Sirait, said that the case of alleged sexual violence had entered the stage of case proceedings. Arist got this certainty when he completed the file to the Ditreskrimum of the East Java Police today.

"It has been almost 67 days, the time has come for the case of sexual violence, which is suspected to have been carried out by JE as the owner and manager of the SPI school, to file a case, because today is complete," he said.

Arist visited the East Java Regional Police accompanied by a reporter who was also a suspected victim with the initials S. Both of them conveyed material for a case carried out internally, by investigators from the East Java Police Ditreskrimum.

The police provide an opportunity for the reporter, Komnas PA and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to provide input so that it becomes the main consideration.

"Besides that, it is also to increase the suspected legal status of witnesses to suspects. Hopefully today's results can increase the status of suspected perpetrators from witnesses to suspects," said Arist.
