West Aceh Regent Responsible For Medical Expenses For Paralyzed Patients After COVID-19 Vaccination

MEULABOH - West Aceh Regent, Ramli MS, emphasized that the local government would fully bear the medical costs of Amelia Wulandari (24) who was paralyzed after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine injection.

"We all bear the cost of the treatment, it is borne by the region", said Regent Ramli MS in Meulaboh, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 4.

Amelia Wulandari, a final student of the Faculty of Law, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, since Sunday, August 1 had to be treated at the Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital because she was paralyzed after receiving a vaccine injection by a doctor.

Initially, the victim was treated at the Montella Meulaboh Private Hospital, but because her condition worsened then he was referred to the Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital.

West Aceh Regent Ramli MS emphasized that the local government will continue to monitor Amelia Wulandari's health, to ensure that her health condition continues to improve.

She has also ordered the West Aceh District Health Office together with the doctors at the Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital to ascertain what exactly happened to the victim.

"This must be clarified so that people do not have negative opinions about the vaccination program that is being rolled out by the government, to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in the country", he said.

On the other hand, he also asked all health workers in West Aceh to be careful in the future in injecting the COVID-19 vaccine to the public.

"None of the community should feel disadvantaged. The public must also understand that this COVID-19 was never planned, this COVID-19 virus is indeed a trial from Allah SWT", said Ramli MS.

According to him, what is currently in the government's mind is how all people in the country are healthy and protected.

The Regent also admitted that thousands of people had received injections of the COVID-19 vaccine, and there was only one problem.

For this reason, the Regent reminded all health workers to take concrete actions and publicize so that the public would not be wary of participating in the vaccination program.
