JAKARTA – AVS (30) was deceived when shopping online on an Instagram account. The item that AVS bought was an iPhone 12 Promax with an official iBox store price of IDR 19.299.000. AVS was tempted when she found out that there was an account selling the item at a price of IDR 7 million.

The woman who lives in the Cempaka Putih area admits that she feels confident with the seller. However, after the money was transferred to BNI bank with account number 1176351892 in the name of Herman Armasa, the seller did not send proof of delivery. Even when contacted again the seller claimed his account had been hijacked.

In the police report numbered LP/B/06/VIII/2021/SPK belonging to the victim, the seller's account is written as Ratna Boutique Official.

"I reported this incident to the Cempaka Putih Police. I submitted the case to the police. The report is for the management of blocking account numbers", she said.

Head of the Cempaka Putih Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Kanit) Commissioner Yuan said his party was not aware of the online fraud report.

"Let me check first", he said when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, August 4.

Police officers appeal to social media users to be more careful when shopping online. If there is an unreasonable price, such as the new iPhone 12 Pro Max, it is suspicious.
