JAKARTA - Akidi Tio's son, Heryanti, had attracted attention for providing assistance for handling COVID-19 to the South Sumatra Police amounting to Rp. 2 trillion.

This was revealed after the police coordinated and asked for information from the bank.

“So it can be ascertained that the balance in the bilyet giro account given by sister Heryanti is not sufficient. That is the result of clarification or coordination in South Sumatra," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police Kombes Supriadi to reporters, Tuesday, August 3.

However, the police have not been able to confirm the amount of balance actually owned by Heryanti. This is because the bank cannot notify you because it is regulated in banking regulations.

"So regarding the name of the account holder, this customer data is bank secret, so the bank cannot give it to the police," he said.

For this reason, continued Supriadi, investigators will re-examine the statements of Heryanti and also the witnesses. In fact, later their statements will be confronted. So, this issue will be clearer

"So we will cross-check between sister Heryanti's statement and other information," said Supriadi.

In addition, the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Hisar Siallagan, said that his party would cooperate with Bank Indonesia (BI) in investigating Heryati's account. Because, to find information about banking can not be done just like that.

"Therefore, we have made the letter today. We have sent it, we just have to wait for permission from Bank Indonesia and ask for permission from the authorities for us to dig deeper," he said.

So far, in the investigation process five people have been questioned as witnesses. However, it is possible that the number will continue to grow.

"We strengthened the evidence, we examined several criminal experts," said Hisar.
