Bogor City Extends Odd-Even Motorized Vehicles

BOGOR - The Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force has decided to extend the implementation of the odd-even motorized vehicle policy in this city. The odd-even extension follows the implementation of PPKM Level 4 in Java and Bali until August 9.

Head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force Bima Arya said the Bogor City Government followed the policy decided by the central government, namely extending the implementation of PPKM in Java and Bali.

"Bogor City, which is in the Jabodetabek agglomeration status is PPKM Level 4, so that in the extension of PPKM until August 9, it has implemented PPKM Level 4 rules," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 3.

Bima Arya explained, during the month of implementing the PPKM set by the central government, since last July 3, the spread of COVID-19 in Bogor City has decreased quite significantly.

The daily number of COVID-19 cases in Bogor City is the highest, reaching around 600 cases per day, and now it has dropped to around 200 cases per day.

The number of active COVID-19 cases at that time reached 8,000 positive cases, and has now fallen to around 3,000 positive cases. "The number of active COVID-19 cases has dropped quite significantly," he said.

The bed occupancy rate (BOR) of positive COVID-19 patients in hospitals, which previously reached around 82 percent, has now fallen to around 65 percent.

According to Bima Arya, the City of Bogor must again reduce the daily number of COVID-19 cases to below 100 cases per day, and the BOR of positive COVID-19 patients below 60 percent, so that Bogor City will enter PPKM Level 3.

To achieve PPKM Level 3, he said, the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force must continue to take several anticipatory steps, including extending the odd-even policy for motorized vehicles.

"The odd-even policy will be enforced again starting Wednesday morning. The location and the rules remain the same as before," he said.
