The COVID-19 Red Zone In Lampung Increases To 13 Regencies/Cities

BANDARLAMPUNG - Lampung Health Office said the status of the Mera zone has now increased to 13 districts/cities.

"Of the 15 regencies/cities in this province, there are now 13 regions that have red zones, after there were six more regions whose status changed from orange to red," said Head of the Lampung Provincial Health Office, Reihana, in Bandarlampung quoted by Antara, Tuesday, 3 August.

He mentioned the six additional red zones for the spread of COVID-19, namely the Districts of West Tulangbawang, Tulangbawang, West Lampung, West Coast, Central Lampung, and North Lampung.

Previously, he continued, in Lampung there were already seven regions with red zone status, namely Bandarlampung City, Metro, East Lampung Regency, South Lampung, Tanggamus, Pesawaran, and Pringsewu.

"Meanwhile, two areas that have orange zones in Lampung are Waykanan and Mesuji," said Reihana.

Reihana said the determination of the status of the red zone for the spread of COVID-19 was an assessment of the Central Task Force based on three criteria, namely epidemiology, surveillance, and health services.

With the increase in red zones where the spread of COVID-19 is out of control, he asked the public to be even stricter in implementing health protocols in their activities.

Reihana said the city government and district government in Lampung must take the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) according to the level in each region seriously, in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs.

"PPKM starting from the RT, village or kelurahan level should run in accordance with the Ministry of Home Affairs. If this goes on, God willing, there will be improvements soon," he said.
