DKI Dishub Will Take Action Against Naughty Tricks If You Do Extortion

JAKARTA - With the findings of alleged illegal levies (Pungli) parking on the sidewalk of Jalan Cikini Raya, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, Head of UP Parking Aji Kusambarto admitted that his party had received information about the alleged extortion experienced by Azas Tigor Nainggolan on Monday, August 2, yesterday.

"We have received the information, we will immediately follow up," said Aji when contacted by VOI reporters, Tuesday, August 03.

The parking attendants (jukir) on Jalan Cikini Raya, continued Aji, should carry out every transaction on a machine that has been prepared using an electronic card. Taping on the machine is done when parking users arrive and when they leave the parking area.

If parking users do not have an electronic card, they can pay in cash. However, taping on the machine must still be done using the parking attendant's card.

"Should have used the jukir card first, because the jukir must have a spare card," explained Aji.

However, based on the information gathered, the parking attendant actually received cash from consumers without tapping the parking machine. Aji admitted that his party had obtained the identity of the parking attendant who was suspected of committing the extortion. It will also ask for clarification from the jukir.

"If that's the case, if it doesn't follow the procedure, we will give sanctions," he concluded.

Previously reported, allegations of illegal levies (extortion) for parking vehicles on the side of the road were again found in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta. The findings of this alleged extortion practice were experienced by Public Policy Observer Azas Tigor Nainggolan.
