Find 4 Passengers Not Equipped With Permits, Sorong COVID Task Force Calls Airlines Ignore SE Mayor

PAPUA - The Sorong City COVID-19 Handling Task Force found four passengers who had ID cards outside of West Papua Province arrived at Domine Eduard Osok Airport.

They do not have an entry permit from the task force as a requirement for travel documents as stipulated in the Circular of the Mayor of Sorong on PPKM.

The four Sriwijaya Air and Batik Air passengers from Makassar Airport were found when the COVID-19 Task Force Team carried out surveillance of PPKM at Domine Eduard Osok Airport, Monday, August 2.

According to the Sorong City COVID-19 Task Force field officer Rodney, the four passengers had ID cards outside West Papua but escaped to board the plane without an entry permit from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force according to the Sorong Mayor's circular regarding PPKM.

"They have other travel documents such as the results of COVID-19 swab tests and vaccines, but do not have an entry permit from the Sorong City COVID-19 Handling Task Force," he said, quoted from Antara.

He said that the findings had been repeated so many times that it could be concluded that the airline and airport of origin ignored the Sorong Mayor's circular (SE) regarding PPKM.

Separately, the Secretary of the Sorong City COVID-19 Task Force, Herlin Sasabone, confirmed that in supervising the implementation of PPKM in Nandara Sorong, the task force field team found four passengers arriving from Makassar without documents.

He explained that the Sorong City COVID-19 Task Force field team on duty at the airport immediately gave a warning to the two travel behaviors.

Tuesday is the deadline for implementing PPKM level 4 according to the Circular of the Mayor of Sorong. However, there were still violations that occurred, namely the completeness of the Sorong City entry permit by the song of traveling by airplane.

"If the implementation of PPKM is extended in the future, it is hoped that there will be no more administrative violations found in entering Sorong City by travelers by plane," said Herlin Sasabone.
