Police expose case of drinking hard water to journalists in Medan (IST)

MEDAN - The police arrested 5 people who sprayed hard water on Persada Sembiring (25), an online media journalist in Medan.

The five perpetrators are Perfect Sembiring (41), Usman Agus (50), Heri Sanjaya Tarigan (36), Iskandar Indra Buana (39) and Narkis.

One perpetrator, Heri Sanjaya Tarigan (36) revealed that the drinking was carried out because the victim had blackmailed the perpetrators of Perfect Sembiring, the owner of a gambling stall. Heri Sanjaya Tarigan is a gambling employee in the Medan Selayang area.

"It all started with threatening news from the victim, after a few months it was given continuously and even with attention, it is not a guarantee that the news will not be raised, still. So for that reason, we did this," said Medan Police Chief Kombes Riko Sunarko when exposing the case. at the Medan Police Headquarters, Monday, August 2.

The Director of Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Tatan Dirsan Atmaja, who was present at the exposé, revealed that the motive for the incident was because the perpetrator was annoyed with the victim.

"Gives a deterrent effect to the victim because the perpetrator feels restless, is threatened with being reported and intends to teach the victim a lesson, and that's a fact from WA that the screenshot officer was good at the brain of the perpetrator, including the suspect HST," said Tatan.

Tatan said that the victim often asked for money from the Perfect Sembiring perpetrator, who was the brains behind pouring hard water on the victim.

"The victim asked the perpetrator for money six months ago from October starting from Rp. 500 thousand, one million, two, to four million. Then, July was late on the 24th, it had not been submitted, so the victim made news about the alleged fish game," he said.

Meanwhile, the Medan Police Chief, Kombes Riko Sunarko also revealed a chronology of events starting from July 2021.

The victim at that time asked the perpetrator Heri Sanjaya Tarigan for a monthly ration that had been held eight times starting from Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 4 million.

The perpetrator, Heri, reported it to the owner of the Perfect Sembiring gambling, who was the brains behind the perpetrator who sprayed liquor on the victim.

"HST reported to the owner of the game place that there was a request for money from the Persada Sembiring victim, asking for a monthly ration that had been going on for eight times. Then SS told Heri that the victim needed to be taught a lesson," he continued.

He said the victim used extortion to stop reporting on the gambling activity.

"Then in June the victim usually receives money from the manager of the game place. However, it was too late. The victim sent a link to some news. The victim said that the news link had not been distributed and asked for the monthly July quota to be immediately given," he said.

Riko said that he was angry with the victim and finally made a plan to invite the victim to meet at the scene.

"The next month he asked for it again but it was too late to give it and the victim made an appointment to meet with HST at Simpang Tuntungan," added Riko.
