John Kei's Appeal To Inmates In Indonesia: Support The Government's Vaccination Program

JAKARTA - The convict in the premeditated murder case, John Kei, asked all inmates throughout Indonesia, both in detention centers and prisons, to support the implementation of the government's vaccination program. If we have been vaccinated, our immunity will be stronger," said John Kei at the Salemba Rutan Field, Central Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Monday, August 2. The man who was born in North Maluku participated in the Complete Vaccination program by Class 1A Rutan Salemba, Central Jakarta, Monday. The man whose real name is John Refra assesses the importance of vaccination so that he has a stronger immune. If he is exposed to COVID-19, John Kei feels that the vaccine keeps him from dying due to the risk of severe symptoms of the corona virus. "I think vaccination it's necessary. I am vaccinated, even if we get COVID, our immunity is strong. If we are far from vaccination, it means we are close to you death. So, if you want to be healthy, we vaccinate," said John Kei.

The convict who was sentenced to 15 years in prison became one of the vaccine participants from a total of 3,508 inmates of the Salemba Class 1A Rutan and Class IIA Salemba Prison which lasted until August 4, 2021. Like inmates and other vaccination participants, John Kei was also screened for health before received the first dose of Sinovac vaccine. He admitted to having diabetes and regularly receiving insulin injections. However, after being examined by a doctor, John Kei was declared healthy and qualified to be vaccinated. "Earlier his tendency was 160/85 and his blood sugar was still within the standard for vaccination. He admitted that he regularly took high blood pressure medication and insulin for blood sugar," said one of the health workers. Salemba Prison, Hawani Halvina.
