Update On COVID-19 As Of June 12: Addition Of New Cases Reaches 1,111

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for Handling COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto (Yuri) announced that the addition of new COVID-19 cases is still happening. As of today, Friday, June 11, out of 15,333 specimens examined in the laboratory, there are 1,111 new cases of COVID-19.

"From the data we got, from today's examination and specimens, there were 1,111 positive COVID-19 confirmed cases. So that the total is 36,406 people," said Yurianto at a press conference that was broadcast online on the BNPB YouTube account, Friday, 12 June.

He added that five provinces had the most cases of COVID-19. The first province that contributed the most number of new COVID cases was East Java Province with a total of 318 cases. "However, at the same time 72 people reported recovering," he said.

The second position is occupied by DKI Jakarta with the addition of 93 new cases and 120 people declared cured. Furthermore, there is North Sumatra with 88 new cases but did not report any recovered patients.

Then, North Sulawesi also did not report any recovered patients. However, in the region there were 65 new cases of COVID-19. Finally, South Kalimantan reported that 15 patients had recovered but there were 60 new cases.

Yurianto also explained that currently there are provinces whose increase is below 10 cases. In addition, there are also six provinces which stated that there was no increase at all.

"Several other provinces also have more patients who recover than are positive," he said.

Meanwhile, the provinces that recorded more recovery rates than new cases were South Sulawesi, Central Java, South Sumatra, West Nusa Tenggara, West Java, West Sumatra and East Kalimantan.

For South Sulawesi, said Yurianto, there were an additional 58 new cases. However, at the same time there were 73 patients who were reported to have recovered.

Then in Central Java there were 44 new cases but 50 patients recovered, South Sumatra there were 33 new cases but 38 were declared cured.

West Nusa Tenggara reported 23 new cases, but 72 patients recovered. Furthermore, West Java recorded 19 new patients but the cure rate reached 41 people.

Furthermore, there is West Sumatra which reported the addition of 10 new cases and 15 patients were declared cured. Finally, East Kalimantan has 18 new cases and 11 patients have tested negative for this virus.

Meanwhile, overall, Yurianto said that the total number of patients recovered reached 557 people. So that nationally the number of recovered patients reached 13,213 people. For patients who died, today there are 48 people, bringing the total to 2,048 people.

"This is proof that now the percentage of recovery is much higher than death. If we compare the accumulated data to the current condition, 35.8 percent are declared cured. Meanwhile, mortality is at 5.67 percent," he said.

For people under surveillance (ODP), Yurianto said that currently the number is 37,538 people. While the number of patients under surveillance (PDP) reached 13,923 people.

"This we mean that most of the provinces have headed to a graph which tends to decline," he concluded.
