JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts the weather in most major cities in Indonesia will be cloudy on Saturday, July 31 at noon.

According to the BMKG forecast, clear cloudy weather will cover the cities of Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Serang, Central Jakarta, Jambi, Bandung, Surabaya, Pontianak, Samarinda, Tarakan, Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Mataram, Jayapura, Pekanbaru, Padang and Palembang.

The cities of Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Banjarmasin, Tanjung Pinang, Ambon and Makassar are forecasted to be cloudy, while the weather in the cities of Kupang and Medan is forecasted to be sunny. Light rains are forecast in the cities of Gorontalo, Ternate, Manokwari, Kendari and Manado.

The BMKG estimates that heavy rains that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds are likely to occur in parts of the provinces of Aceh, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, East Java, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi. According to BMKG data, which was monitored on Saturday, July 30, the weather in Jakarta in the morning was cloudy and sunny throughout the DKI Jakarta area.

During the day, sunny and cloudy weather occurs in most parts of Jakarta, but rains occur in South Jakarta and East Jakarta with light intensity. Entering the evening, the rain spread to all areas of DKI Jakarta with light intensity.

BMKG asked the public to be vigilant considering the potential for rain that could be accompanied by lightning/lightning with a short duration in the areas of South Jakarta and South Jakarta and East Jakarta in the afternoon.

After the rain, the weather is predicted to turn cloudy in most parts of Jakarta when it enters the early hours of Sunday 1 August, with the exception of the Thousand Islands, which has light rain.
