Kutai Kartanegara Contributes Highest Case Of COVID-19 In East Kalimantan

SAMARINDA - Kutai Kartanegara Regency contributed the highest positive cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan. There were 527 new cases.

Spokesman for the East Kalimantan COVID-19 Task Force Andi Muhammad Ishak said there were 2,364 additional positive confirmed cases in East Kalimantan.

"This time the additional cases broke the daily case record. Previously, the highest additional positive confirmed cases in East Kalimantan occurred on July 28, 2021 with an additional 2,129 cases," said Andi Muhammad Ishak in Samarinda, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 30.

Andi said additional positive confirmed cases occurred in Balikpapan with 494 cases, East Kutai with 441 cases, West Kutai with 228 cases, Berau with 169 cases, Bontang with 148 cases, Samarinda with 128 cases, North Panajam Paser 104 cases, Paser 94 cases and Mahakam Ulu 28 cases.

"For recovery cases, 1,412 cases have also been added, and Kutai Kartanegara also contributed the most cases with an additional 507 cases," said Andi.

Additional recovery cases occurred in Berau with 115 cases, West Kutai 46 cases, East Kutai 92 cases, Paser 28 cases, North Penajam Paser 52 cases, Balikpapan 323 cases, Bontang 115 cases and Samarinda 134 cases.

"The accumulation of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan is 115,847 cases, while those who have been declared cured are 89,749 cases," said Andi.

There were also 69 deaths, with details in Berau 9 cases, West Kutai 2 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 2 cases, East Kutai 10 cases, Paser 3 cases, North Penajam Paser 4 cases, Balikpapan 28 cases, Bontang 5 cases and Samarinda 6 cases.

"The total number of COVID-19 deaths in East Kalimantan is 3,271 people," Andi said.

Based on data from the East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force as of July 30, 2021, there were 22,827 COVID-19 patients who were still undergoing treatment both in hospitals and in self-isolation.

The patients were spread in Balikpapan as many as 7,493 people, Kutai Kartanegara 3,611 people, East Kutai 2,286 people, Bontang 2,262 people and Samarinda 1,960 people.

Furthermore, West Kutai 1,853 people, Berau 1482 people, North Panajam Paser 750 people, Paser 720 people and Mahakam Ulu 410 people.
