North Penajam Paser Regent Hands Over Rp8.06 Billion Of Social Assistance From The Ministry Of Social Affairs

PENAJAM PASER UTARA - Regent of Penajam Paser Utara (PPU), East Kalimantan, Abdul Gafur Mas'ud symbolically handed over cash social assistance (BST) from the Ministry of Social Affairs with a total value of Rp8.06 billion for 13,447 beneficiary families.

"This BST comes from the Ministry of Social Affairs which is distributed through the PPU Regency Social Service," said Abdul Gafur Mas'ud (AGM) when handing over BST and 10 kg of rice to beneficiary families (KPM) in Girimukti Village, Penajam District, quoted by Antara, Wednesday , July 28.

The BST value which reached Rp8.06 billion was obtained from a total of 13,447 KPM based on social service data multiplied by Rp600 thousand per KPM.

AGM hopes that the rice and cash assistance from the government can help ease the burden on the community in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

AGM also reminded the public to always comply with health protocols, so that the rate of transmission of COVID-19 in PPU can be suppressed.

"This assistance is an effort to provide protection and social security for people affected by COVID-19, in line with the policy of implementing restrictions on community activities (PPKM)," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the PPU Regency Social Service Office Bagenda Ali, when confirmed, said that apart from the 13,447 KPM registered, it is estimated that PPU Regency will still receive 3,156 KPM assistance.

"The assistance handed over by the regent today is in the form of 10 kg of rice and BST each worth Rp600 thousand multiplied by 13,447 KPM. Hopefully this will be useful for all," said Bagenda.

At this early stage, he continued, the assistance was handed over directly to each village or sub-district, including Girimukti Village and Giripurwa Village, then Petung Village and Penajam Village.

"Rice assistance comes from the Ministry of Social Affairs through Bulog, then distributed by the PPU Social Service either directly to the community or through sub-districts and villages," said Bagenda.
