A Year Later, The Jakarta Attorney General's Office Names 2 New Suspects In The Corruption Case Of BUMD DKI Financial Misuse

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of financial abuse of PT Jakarta Tourisindo (BUMD DKI Jakarta). The determination of this suspect is the result of the development of the 2020 investigation.

"Development of cases of financial abuse originating from payments for government agency hospitality services at the Grand Cempaka Resort & Convention, a business unit of PT. Jakarta Tourisindo (BUMD) of DKI Jakarta Province," said Head of Jakarta Attorney General's Office, Ashari Syam in his statement, Wednesday, July 28.

In that case, the Jakarta Attorney General's Office previously named a suspect, Irfan Sudrajat. Then an investigation was developed and two other suspects were identified.

"Based on the development of the Investigation Order of the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office Number: Print: 298/ M.1/Fd.1/01/2020 On January 31, 2020 on behalf of the suspect Irfan Sudrajat, sufficient evidence was found to determine the new suspect, namely brother RI (as General Manager) and brother SY (as Chief Accounting) as participants," said Ashari.

The determination of the suspect against RI has been stated in the Letter of Determination of the Suspect of the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office Number: TAP-01/M.1.5/Fd.1/07/2021 dated 28 July 2021 and the investigation was carried out based on the Investigation Order of the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office Number: PRIN-1600/M.1/Fd.1/07/2021 dated 28 July 2021.

Meanwhile, the determination of the suspect SY is stated in the Letter of Determination of the Suspect of the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office Number: TAP-02/M.1.5/Fd.1/07/2021 dated July 28, 2021 and the investigation is carried out based on the Investigation Order of the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office Number: PRIN-1601/M.1/Fd.1/07/2021 dated 28 July 2021.

"As a result of the actions of the suspects carried out at least from 2014 to June 2015, it caused state financial losses of Rp. 5,194,790,618," said Ashari.

Even though they were named suspects, they were decided not to be detained. The reason is that the two suspects were cooperative in the investigation process.

"The consideration of the investigation team of the two suspects is that no detention has been carried out, among others, because the two suspects are considered quite cooperative in undergoing the investigation process so far," said Ashari
