COVID-19 Update As Of July 28: 47,791 New Cases, Active Cases Up To 558,392

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 277,809 specimens were examined with the result that there were 47,791 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3,287,727 people and active cases have increased to 558,392," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Wednesday, July 28.

Today's recovered cases increased by 43,856 cases, bringing the total to 2,640,676 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,824 people and a total of 88,659 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 8,366 cases and a total of 590,392 cases. Followed by East Java which has 6,422 new cases with a total of 293,019 cases. DKI Jakarta has 5,525 new cases and a total of 804,027 cases. Then, Central Java had 4,666 new cases and a total of 367,954 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 11,040 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 8,067 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 4,591 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 4,480 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 25,523,300.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 35.60 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 271,132 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

To date, 45,734,912 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 19,103,162 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
