Task Force Report To Jokowi, COVID-19 Tests Translucent 14,000 Every Day

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Expert Team for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, Wiku Adisasmito, reports the results of daily specimen tests that penetrate 1,4000 samples. This report was given to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during a visit to the BNPB Building, Wednesday, June 10.

This figure, continued Wiku, increased dramatically. Given that in the early days of COVID-19, Indonesia was only able to test 1,000 samples per day.

"Previously, the test was less than 1,000. Now there are 14,000, although it is still fluctuating," said Wiku when reporting the task force's performance to President Jokowi, Wednesday, June 10.

The ups and downs of this test occur because of laboratory performance. Currently, said Wiku, there are 147 reference laboratories used to examine samples.

It's just that, because this laboratory is under different ministries and institutions, the test numbers are unstable or fluctuate frequently.

"This is a disruption of our institutional administration system that needs to be improved in the future in order to detect dangerous diseases," he said.

In addition to reporting the number of specimens, Wiku also reported that currently from 2,902 hospitals, 1,647 hospitals have reported their data in real time to the Task Force.

"Everything is connected in one unified data so that it is connected to existing laboratories and surveillance," he said.

Previously, Spokesperson for COVID-19 Handling Achmad Yurianto said that on Wednesday, June 10, the total number of specimens examined reached 17,757 using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and molecular rapid tests.

Meanwhile, for the addition of positive cases, within two days it reached more than 1,000.

Referring to the data from the COVID-19 Task Force as of Wednesday 10 June, the number of positive cases of 1,241 people was confirmed as new positive cases. This number is from all cases in Indonesia.

"Additional cases of positive confirmation were 1,241 people, bringing the total to 34,316," said Yuri at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 10.

The addition of this large number of positive cases came from 5 provinces. East Java, South Sulawesi, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, and South Kalimantan. These five provinces are the regions with the highest number of positive cases.

"We got additional 5 provinces, the first is East Java which today reported 273 positive confirmed cases and 97 recovered, South Sulawesi 189 positive cases and reported 53 recovered, DKI Jakarta 157 people and reported 146 recovered, Central Java increased 139 people, and reported 118 people recovered, South Kalimantan 127 people and 10 people recovered, "said Yuri.

On the other hand, negative or cured cases also increase. Referring to existing data, about 715 patients were declared cured. With this addition, the number of patients recovered reached 12,129 people.

Meanwhile, 36 patients died from the virus. The total number of patients who died from COVID-19 became 1,959 people.
