Pontianak City Enters The COVID-19 Orange Zone

JAKARTA - Pontianak City, West Kalimantan Province, is currently designated an orange zone from the previous red zone for the spread of COVID-19.

"The orange zone is 1.89 or still high, so PPKM level IV is still in effect, the number should be above two so PPKM level III," said Pontianak Mayor Edi Rusdi Kamtono after chairing a meeting with representatives of business actors in addressing PPKM level IV in Pontianak, reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 27.

For this reason, Edi asked business actors to support the policy for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level IV in Pontianak City.

According to him, with joint efforts between the Pontianak City Government and business actors, Pontianak City is expected to be able to get out of PPKM level IV which is valid from 26 July to 2 August 2021.

"This will be achieved if there is cooperation and support from business actors," he said. As is known, Pontianak City is currently in the orange zone with a score of 1.89. The score, explained Edi, is still categorized at level IV, because for the level III category, the score must be above number two with the orange zone.

"Hopefully as time goes on until August 2, 2021, conditions will improve, the level will drop to level III, the zone will change to the yellow zone," he hoped.

In the socialization, his party invited representatives of business actors, the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and others to convey matters related to PPKM level IV, including concessions for culinary businesses to allow visitors to eat and drink. in place with a maximum provision of 25 percent of the business capacity.

"The point in PPKM level IV is leeway. Previously eating and drinking in places was not allowed, now you can eat and drink on the spot with a maximum of 25 percent of capacity," he said.

Edi hopes that this relaxation or relaxation does not mean that people feel euphoric. Instead, he reminded the entire community of Pontianak City to take part in maintaining conditions so that they continue to improve by complying with the rules imposed during PPKM level IV and implementing strict health protocols.

"Not only relaxation in the business sector, partitions in a number of roads have also begun to be reopened," he said
