JAKARTA - The South Korean government sent the second phase of emergency assistance for handling COVID-19 to Indonesia, which arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten, on Saturday, July 24 afternoon. As reported by Antara, the second aid transported by flight GA 878 was in the form of 150 concentrator units. oxygen and 35 ventilator units, according to a written statement from the South Korean Embassy in Jakarta. The South Korean government had previously distributed 200 oxygen concentrator units to Indonesia on July 18, 2021 as the first stage of assistance.

"No single country can overcome this COVID-19 pandemic alone," said South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia Park Tae-sung in a written statement last week.

According to Park Tae-Sung, the COVID-19 situation should be faced by building international solidarity and cooperation. Park is committed that South Korea, which is a special strategic partner for Indonesia, will always fight with Indonesia to end COVID-19.

It is hoped that through this assistance, South Korea will at least contribute to securing the number of oxygen concentrators in Indonesia. The South Korean government will continue to work closely with the Indonesian government to jointly deal with COVID-19 in Indonesia, including providing other humanitarian assistance. Currently, the South Korean government has disbursed US$4 million or around Rp. 57 billion to assist the Government of Indonesia as a form of cooperation in increasing the capacity to deal with COVID-19. These cooperation programs include the provision of PCR test equipment and antigen tests to increase testing capacity. , implementing programs to increase health personnel resources, as well as providing assistance to overcome the spread of COVID-19 in remote areas, including in the outer islands of Indonesia.
