West Bangka Police Distributes 250 Food Packages To People Affected By COVID-19

BABEL - The West Bangka Resort Police of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province distributed 250 packages of basic necessities to residents in need in the area.

"We distribute this assistance to people in need who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope it will be useful and on target," said West Bangka Police Chief AKBP Agus Siswanto in Mentok quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 24.

According to him, the COVID-19 pandemic, which has not ended yet, has greatly affected the community's economy, and even some residents find it difficult to meet their daily needs.

"With this assistance, we hope that underprivileged residents who have previously been registered by officers can be helped to deal with the pandemic," he said.

The Chief of Police conveyed that the provision and distribution of social assistance was a form of Polri's concern for the community as well as an effort to strengthen relations between the police and residents.

On the opportunity to meet directly with these residents, the Police Chief appealed to the public to reduce mobility and maintain health by complying with health protocols.

The social service which was held in Tanjung Village, the personnel distributed aid directly to residents' homes to avoid crowds.

"The distribution of basic food packages still pays attention to health protocols, wears masks and maintains distance. Let's obey health protocols to minimize the risk of virus transmission," he said.
