Police: Ojol And Ormas Do Not Participate In Demonstration In Front Of The State Palace

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Police Commissioner Yusri Yunus ensured that application-based motorcycle taxis or online motorcycle taxis and all community organizations (ormas) did not participate in demonstrations related to the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in front of the State Palace, Central Jakarta. "Several organizations such as ojol (online motorcycle taxis) and other organizations said they did not participate because they realized that Jakarta has a high number of COVID-19," said Yusri. Yusri said in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Saturday, July 24. Even though he had not found any mass that took part in the demonstration, Yusri ensured that the police officers were still on guard at several points. "So many hoaxes are circulating, but we are still anticipating. at the points that are considered to be ready," said Yusri.

He hopes that other elements of society will not be provoked by invitations through social media to hold demonstrations on the streets. From Antara's observations at the location, no mass has yet entered the vicinity of the State Palace or the Horse Statue, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta. However, police officers from The Directorate of Traffic and the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya were monitored to keep guarding on each side of the road.
