Bad News, COVID-19 Red Zones In Indonesia Are Currently The Most During A Pandemic

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said that currently the number of districts/cities with high COVID-19 risk zones or red zones in Indonesia is the largest during the pandemic.

"Regency/city-level risk zones are currently showing an unfavorable development. Currently, districts/cities showing high-risk zones are the most during the pandemic, namely 180 districts/cities," Wiku said in a Youtube video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday. , July 22.

The COVID-19 red zone area is dominated by regencies/cities from the province of East Java with 33 regions, Central Java with 29 regions, and West Java with 21 regions.

Wiku said, local governments that have many COVID-19 red zones must work together in increasing testing and reducing mortality rates. Moreover, President Joko Widodo plans to loosen PPKM Level 4 in the next few days.

Then areas that show good development, such as positive cases, active cases, and daily BOR that show a decline, as well as recoveries that are increasing, must be maintained.

"That way, the risk zoning of areas that are currently in the red zone can improve immediately and can move to the orange zone and yellow zone," said Wiku.

If you look at the past seven days, positive cases nationally have decreased, where initially there was an increase of 56,757 cases on July 15, to 33,772 on July 21, a decrease of 40 percent.

Meanwhile, the cure rate for the last 7 days showed an increase, which was more than 70 percent. Likewise, the percentage of active cases seen, began to decline over the last 3 days.

Then the percentage of COVID-19 bed occupancy or daily bed occupation ratio (BOR) at the national level has also consistently decreased for the last 7 days from 76.26 percent to 72.82 percent.
