COVID-19 Update As Of July 22: 49.509 New Cases From Examination Of 294.470 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 294.470 specimens were examined with the result that there were 49.509 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3.033.339 people and active cases are 561.384", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, July 22.

Today's recovered cases increased by 36.370 cases, bringing the total to 2.392.923 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1.449 people and a total of 79.032 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 10.499 cases and a total of 547.255 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 7.058 new cases with a total of 770.487 cases. East Java has 6.625 new cases and a total of 259.729 cases. Then, Central Java has 5.371 new cases and a total of 338.852 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 10.631 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 7.288 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 6.115 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 3.182 recovered cases.

No province has reported zero new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 24.114.054.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 38.92 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 271.167 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

To date, 43.155.795 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 16.896.200 have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
