Police Reveal The Starting Point Of Fire At The BPOM Office

JAKARTA - The National Police said the first hotspot of fire at the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) office came from the drug standardization room. The allegation is based on the results of a temporary investigation conducted by the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor).

"From the results of the initial investigation, it is known that there was a fire blazing on the first floor of the BPOM building, precisely in the standardization room for drugs and precursors and addictive substances," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono when confirmed, Wednesday, July 21.

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit or an electrical short circuit. Because previously there had been work on rejuvenating the electrical panels.

Meanwhile, Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono said that to ascertain the cause of the fire, a team from the Forensic Laboratory for Research and Development is still working. All information and clues are still being researched today.

Later, after the investigation is complete, the Puslabfor team will convey the results to the police unit that handles the issue.

Fire at the BPOM office located at Jalan Percetakan Negara Raya, Number 29, Johar Baru Village, Central Jakarta, Sunday, July 18.

According to reports, the fire broke out at 21.30 WIB. This fire was reported by residents. Upon receiving the report, officers immediately went to the field to extinguish the fire.
