JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) Wiku Adisasmito said DKI Jakarta is a province that does not obey health protocols.

Based on the monitoring carried out over the past week, the non-compliance of DKI Jakarta residents in maintaining their distance reached 48.26 percent.

"For urban villages that do not comply with social distancing, DKI Jakarta is the province with the most urban villages, namely 48.26 percent or almost half of the urban villages in DKI Jakarta whose people do not comply with social distancing," said Wiku in a press conference broadcast on YouTube Secretariat President, Tuesday, July 20.

Besides Jakarta, he also mentioned Banten as a province where people often ignore health protocols using masks.

"The most sub-districts that do not comply with wearing masks are in Banten at 28.57 percent," explained Wiku.

In addition to the two provinces, Wiku also mentioned that 26 percent of villages and urban villages in Indonesia often neglect the obligation to wear masks and another 28 percent often neglect to maintain social distance.

"Restaurants, residential areas, and public sports venues are the locations for crowds with the lowest public compliance," he said.

Based on the data, Wiku said that surveillance and strict action for violators of health protocols needed to be carefully planned before relaxing restrictions.

"More than that, several things need to be confirmed before the relaxation is carried out, namely the first commitment of all elements, the commitment of the local government, TNI, Polri, puskesmas to the head of RT/RW to carry out the handling properly," he said.

"This is important as our capital to carry out safe and effective relaxation," he added.

Next, Wiku also reminded that a careful evaluation of the planning must also be carried out. "So the quality of handling can continue to be improved," he concluded.
