SUMSEL - The Provincial Government of South Sumatra (Sumsel) disbursed incentive funds for health workers (nakes) which had been delayed for six months from January to June 2021 worth Rp5.2 billion.

South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru said the provincial government distributed these incentives to health workers as instructed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"We will transfer it to each other's personal accounts, all of which are paid for the six months," explained Herman in Palembang, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 19.

Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office, Lesty Nurainy, said that the incentive funds would only be given to 500 health workers spread across the Siti Fatimah General Hospital, Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, the Jakabaring Sport City Athlete Health House and the Task Force.

The amount varies according to the regulations from the central government, namely specialist doctors get Rp. 15 million, general practitioners Rp. 10 million, nurses Rp. 7.5 million and other types of health workers Rp. 5 million.

"Meanwhile, for this month we just paid, for July-December 2021 we will process the disbursement as soon as possible," he said.

Overall, the health worker incentive budget for 2021 is budgeted at IDR 51.2 billion with a total of 15,073 health workers. However, the provincial government is currently only disbursing for January–June 2021.

This is done because the provincial government considers the period of work and workload, for example, health workers who work at the Wisma Atlet Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) healthy home have only worked for two months since May 2021. In addition, there are also those who have received incentives using the Revised APBD budget.

"We also have plans to add health workers and vaccinators considering the high number of COVID-19 spreads," he said.
