Emergency PPKM, Masjid Raya Al Mahsun Medan Still Holds Eid Prayers

MEDAN - Al Mashun Grand Mosque, Medan, North Sumatra continues to carry out congregational Eid prayers. While the city of Medan is included in the emergency PPKM area.

The mosque administrator said the Eid prayer would take place by implementing strict health protocols.

In front of the Al Mahsun Grand Mosque there is a notification to the congregation regarding the Eid prayer which is held with strict health protocols.

The number of worshipers attending is limited and congregants are required to wear masks, maintain distance, wash hands, including carrying prayer mats.

"God willing, we will implement the Eid al-Adha prayers, which means checking body temperature for all pilgrims who enter, must wear masks, bring their own prayer mats, maintain distance. We have prepared facilities, we have completed them," said one of the administrators of the Al Mashun Grand Mosque , Hamdan, Monday, July 19.

Hamdan said that during the prayer, social distancing arrangements would be made.

"There will be an interval (distance), later we will arrange the congregation. It means to keep the distance," said Hamdan.

Then, the slaughter of sacrificial animals will be held on Wednesday, July 21. There are a number of sacrificial animals that have been prepared.

"The slaughter of sacrificial animals is also carried out, God willing, on Wednesday, the second day. A total of two cows, 1 from the imam of the mosque, another from the Governor Pak Edy Rahmayadi and there are 9 goats," said Hamdan.

For the distribution, Hamdan explained that his party would cooperate with a number of people to coordinate.

"Later, maybe some people will pick them up, he will distribute them. Just a representative," said Hamdan.
