Sunter Agung Residents Are Surprised That Mr. Jokowi Suddenly Comes To The House To Distribute Medicine And Basic Food Packages

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo distributed medicine and basic food packages to residents in North Jakarta, Thursday, July 15 evening.

In a video on the Presidential Secretariat channel which was uploaded on the evening of Thursday, July 15, President Jokowi was seen visiting people's homes in a small alley wearing a mask, black gloves, a white shirt wrapped in a light brown jacket, and black pants.

In the video description, it was stated that the time of the visit was at 20.52 western Indonesia time, the President was accompanied by Paspampres.

"Tonight I was in Sunter Agung Village in order to initiate the provision of basic necessities to the community, which will be given in full, which has prepared 200,000 tons of rice to be distributed later from Bulog," President Jokowi said in Sunter Agung Village, as reported by Antara, Jakarta.

Not to be missed, President Jokowi also distributed medicine packages to the public.

"Secondly, I also distributed drug packages, both for mild symptoms, package 1, package 2 for moderate symptoms, and package 3, which will initially distribute 300,000 packets of the drug," said the President.

According to the President, next week the distribution of the second drug package will also be 300,000 packages.

"We hope that with the distribution of basic necessities as well as packages of medicines, vitamins, and supplements, the community can be calmer in dealing with the spread of COVID-19," said the President.

Sunter Agung residents who received food packages from President Jokowi named Sugiharto and Karsini said they were happy to receive assistance.

"I don't know, I don't think Mr. Jokowi, I'm surprised. I'm very happy Mr. Jokowi came here, thank God, the President came here to see the residents see the community here. Thank you very much," said Karsini.

He also hopes that COVID-19 will gradually disappear.

"I want there to be no more corona, I want everyone to be healthy, family gathering, meet, want to be safe and rich again, don't want epidemics like this to disappear," said Karsini, who, when visited by President Jokowi, was already wearing a mask.

Another resident of Sunter Agung who was also visited by President Jokowi, namely Susanti, also admitted that it was like getting sustenance because President Jokowi visited.

"I was actually really surprised that Mr. Jokowi suddenly came to the front of the house. I thought who it was, it turned out to be really Mr. President. Didn't think, maybe my sustenance this time, yes, maybe I want to get any kind of sustenance. Thank you very much, yes, Sir, for your struggles so far, I know that it may not be easy for you to lead the country in the midst of problems like this," said Susanti.

The government has launched 300,000 packages of medicine and vitamins distributed to residents who are self-isolating (isoman) due to exposure to COVID-19 on the islands of Java and Bali on Thursday, July 16.

The government divided it into three packages, namely, package 1 containing vitamins for residents with positive asymptomatic PCR (polymerase chain reaction) results or OTG; package 2 contains vitamins and medicine for residents with positive PCR with complaints of fever and loss of smell; and package 3 contains vitamins and medicine for residents with positive PCR with complaints of fever and dry cough.

The program is planned to be continued by residents outside Java with the same number of 300,000 packages.
