Emergency PPKM Expanded, HNW: Social Minister Should Be Sensitive, Immediately Disburse Cash Social Assistance

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the MPR Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW) has accepted the government's promise, especially the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture and the Ministry of Social Affairs which stated that they would immediately distribute social assistance related to Emergency PPKM.

However, according to him, until now many residents have complained because they have not yet received the social assistance.

In fact, the Emergency PPKM policy has been expanded to 15 districts/cities outside Java-Bali based on the Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs Numbers 15, 16 and 18 of 2021.

The restrictions on movement, said HNW, made the people and the business world more and more experiencing economic difficulties. So that from the beginning the Government should have anticipated and paid off its promise as soon as possible by immediately distributing all cash social assistance for people affected by COVID-19.

"The government should be really anticipatory and carry out its constitutional obligations, namely to immediately protect all Indonesian people from corona, hunger, and the socio-economic impact of the implementation of the Emergency PPKM," Hidayat told reporters, Thursday, July 15.

He reminded that this protection should have been implemented since the beginning of the implementation of the Emergency PPKM, with the right number and right target according to the verification and currentization of DTKS. So that it does not continue to be delayed due to bureaucracy at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"Also, don't let the previous Bansos case be repeated, which was neither targeted nor corrupted," said the member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives who is partnering with the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Instead of synergizing with Commission VIII of the House of Representatives to discuss data so that the Emergency PPKM social assistance can be more targeted and far from corruption, said HNW, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini instead brought public uproar with anger in public that involved Papua.

"The Minister of Social Affairs should reassure all Indonesian citizens, not even make statements of racism, making Papuans hot. Apologize immediately, focus on accelerating the distribution of social assistance with valid data, before the Emergency PPKM ends," he stressed.

The Deputy Chair of the PKS Syuro Council assessed that Risma's slowness in distributing social assistance had made more and more people affected by the pandemic unable to stay at home, causing a spike in cases.

Therefore, HNW urges Risma to immediately complete a payment order for all recipients of the Emergency PPKM cash assistance. So that the affected residents can survive, especially since many people depend on their daily income for a living.

"The Social Minister should be sensitive and concerned, immediately disbursing the cash assistance," he said.
