Addition Of Blocking Points Impacts Congestion, Police: It's OK, Tomorrow Is Shorter

JAKARTA - The scheme for adding blocking points that has been implemented has an impact on traffic jams. The police considered it a natural thing to happen.

Based on the upload to the Instagram account @jktinfo, traffic jams occurred in the Mampang area, the Underpass to Menteng, Setia Budi, and Semanggi.

The upload shows officers checking the documents of the drivers. They are asked to show a Worker Registration Certificate (STRP), a requirement for entry and exit from Jakarta during Emergency PPKM.

Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, who was confirmed about this, did not deny the occurrence of traffic jams. But, he actually thought it was natural to happen.

"Yes, there is a traffic jam. It's okay," said Sambodo in his statement, Thursday, July 15.

Later, continued Sambodo, the congestion that occurs will be a material for evaluation. Because the traffic jam was predictable.

"We are evaluating. Usually tomorrow the queue will be shorter," said Sambodo.

For information, Polda Metro Jaya has added blocking points in the Jakarta area and its surroundings. So, there are 100 blocking points.
