160 West Java Residents Positive For COVID-19 Died While Self-Isolating

BANDUNG - West Java Governor, M Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil, said that up to now there are around 160 West Java residents who have contracted COVID-19 and are currently self-isolating and have died.

"There have been 160 self-isolating residents in West Java who have died. Therefore, Sir  Regional Secretary, Babinsa, Bhabinkamtibmas, we ask to check on those who are isoman. Make sure the self-isolating is improving, not getting worse", said Kang Emil, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 14.

Therefore, in addition to ensuring the oxygen supply, Kang Emil asked the local authorities to actively check on people who are doing self-isolating at home.

"Don't let anyone die in their homes because the RT-RW (Citizens Association) apparatus, village heads, and others don't check because they don't pay attention", he added.

Ridwan Kamil said the West Java Provincial Government was also proactive in picking up the ball by distributing free medicines to people who are self-isolating.

In addition, the West Java Provincial Government also provides teleconsultation for people who are self-isolating through the Osman feature on the Pikobar portal.

"West Java is proactive in principle, don't wait. That's why West Java has already distributed free medicine. So it is necessary to coordinate with the President's plan the day after tomorrow to distribute free medicine to self-isolating patients so that there is no duplication", he said.

The West Java Provincial Government today received 700 oxygen cylinders from the West Java Province National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) and PT Abyro Multitecno Cemerlang.

Kang Emil said the West Java Provincial Government continues to strive to meet oxygen needs, especially in hospitals.

The West Java Provincial Government has also assigned two Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), PT Jasa Sarana and PT Migas Hulu Jabar, to ensure oxygen distribution goes well.

"Our division of tasks is carried out by the West Java Provincial Government. We have assigned two BUMDs, PT Jasa Sarana, the second of which owns this place, PT Migas Hulu Jabar, to take care of A to Z of oxygen supply-demand in West Java", said Kang Emil.

From the supply side, the West Java Provincial Government is intensely looking for oxygen producers in Indonesia. There are already several State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), such as PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk, Pertamina, and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, which are committed to delivering oxygen to West Java.
