Jakpro Is Still Waiting For Anies' Directives To Respond To Jakarta Not Being Included In The 2022 Formula E Calendar

JAKARTA - Corporate Secretary of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Nadia Diposanjoyo admitted that his party is still waiting for directions from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government regarding the absence of Jakarta's name in the calendar of the 2022 Formula E organizers.

"We are still waiting for directions from the provincial government. All parties are still coordinating to get the best," said Nadia when confirmed, Wednesday, July 14.

Moreover, said Nadia, the schedule issued by the International Automotive Federation (FIA) as the manager of Formula E in New York, United States (US), is still temporary.

Currently, Nadia admits that Jakpro is still helping the government to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic in the capital, which is currently surging.

"The current Formula E schedule is still provisional. Which means it is still temporary. Jakpro is currently helping the provincial government focus on handling COVID-19. Meanwhile, Nadia said.

Back to back, a few months ago. The DKI Provincial Government at that time believed that it could hold a Formula E racing event in 2022. However, now Anies' dream for the Capital City to host Formula E is threatened to fail.

On its official website, fiaformulae.com, the FIA released 16 races in 12 cities. However, there is no name Jakarta in the list of organizers. However, one schedule with TBD information or to be determined on June 4, 2022.

FIA Formula E Co-Founder Alberto Longo said DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked for additional time to be appointed as one of the organizers of the electric car racing event.

"We planned to go (to hold) there, but the Governor (Anies) himself asked for time to (postpone) the announcement of the race (for the Jakarta location)," Alberto said in his official statement.

The provisional schedule for the 2022 Formula E electric car race is as follows:

1. Series 1 and 2 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on 28-29 January 2022

2. Series 3 Mexico City, Mexico on February 12, 2022

3. Series 4 Cape Town, South Africa on 26 February 2022

4. Series 5 in China on March 19, 2022

5. Draw 6 in Rome, Italy on 9 April 2022

6. Draw 7 in Monaco on 30 April 2022

7. Series 8 in Berlin, Germany on 14 May 2022

8. Series 9 TBD on June 4, 2022

9. Draw 10 in Vancouver, Canada on July 2, 2022

10. Series 11 and 12 in New York, USA on 16-17 July 2022

11. Draws 13 and 14 in London, England on 30-31 July 2022

12. Series 15 and 16 in Seoul, South Korea on August 13-14, 2022
