JAKARTA - PT Transjakarta has required prospective passengers to have a worker registration certificate (STRP) before entering the bus stop and boarding the bus since Monday, July 12. This STRP is valid during Emergency PPKM.

However, Director of Services and Development of PT Transjakarta Achmad Izzul Waro, it turns out that there are still people who enter Transjakarta bus stops without carrying STRP. They claimed not to know the obligation.

Achmad said that his party extended the socialization period until today. He emphasized that the mandatory use of STRP will begin on Wednesday, July 14 tomorrow.

"Monday to Tuesday the focus is still on the socialization stage. Starting from Wednesday, we will enforce the discipline that has become a mutual agreement. If the rules state that there is an STRP obligation, we will use that as a reference," said Achmad.

Achmad hopes that the opportunity to extend the socialization can be used by prospective Transjakarta passengers to immediately arrange STRP specifically for workers in essential and critical sectors, as well as those with urgent needs.

"So, on Wednesday, when the full implementation of the obligation to carry the STRP, this socialization will no longer exist," said Achmad.

"It is hoped that awareness will emerge. Those who are really forced to travel. It is hoped that they will stay at home. However, even if they still have to travel, it is hoped that they have equipped themselves with STRP," he continued.

Achmad said the decline in passengers reached 50 percent with an average of only 200 thousand per day. It also monitors the development of the number of passengers when the STRP will be applied for passengers who will use TransJakarta services.

"We don't know yet whether that number will move again during this STRP mass. We will continue to monitor it," said Achmad.

The STRP policy for TransJakarta passengers follows up on the Circular Letter (SE) of the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Number 49 of 2021 concerning changes to the Minister of Transportation's SE Number 43 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Land Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
