JAKARTA - It is being widely shared on social media that the action of the emergency PPKM mascot (pocong) theft in Lamongan, East Java. It's unknown what the purpose is, but this case is being investigated by the police.

Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi in Lamongan said this action was a joint effort of the Lamongan Regency Government, Military District Commander 0812, and Lamongan Police to always take firm action against perpetrators of health protocol violations.

He explained that the operation was carried out at several points, then the trial for the prosecution of the perpetrators of the violations was carried out directly at the Lamongan Sports Center.

"The direct implementation of the judicial hearing is also one of the efforts in implementing the COVID-19 Emergency PPKM in Lamongan," said Yuhronur, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 9.

According to him, the on-site trial is a warning to the public to comply with driving safety equipment, such as helmets and masks.

"We continue to do this in order to provide education for the community, so that this emergency PPKM can run effectively and have a positive effect on reducing the number of exposures and deaths in Lamongan," said Yuhronur.

Yuhronur noted that during the emergency PPKM there were several things that had been done apart from insulation efforts, namely reducing crowds and turning off some street lights at night.

"From the results of that effort, until three days ago, Alhamdulillah, we reduced mass mobility in Lamongan Regency by about 30 percent, we immediately conveyed this data to the Minister of Health, that we were able to suppress mobility," he said.

He hopes that the decline in mobility will correlate with the decline in the number of people exposed to COVID-19 in Lamongan.

Lamongan Police Chief, Pol Grand Commissioner Adjutant Miko Indrayana said that all efforts had been made by three pillars, namely the Lamongan Regency Government, 0812 Military District Commander, and Lamongan Police, the aim was to save residents.

"All efforts made can be successful when the community also actively participates. Because, it must be understood together, the situation is extraordinary, extraordinary activities are also needed, both related to preventive efforts and other activities," he said.
