MAKASSAR - The Makassar City Government dispatched a COVID-19 Detector Task Force (Satgas) simultaneously in all Neighborhood Units (RT) to ensure each zone and the status of its citizens through tracing, testing, and treatment. The task force began to be deployed on Saturday 10 July.
"Tomorrow (today), all detector teams will go down to detect residents, this is a humanitarian call. Prepare carefully all the needs in the field and make sure they understand each other's duties and functions," said Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto during a virtual meeting to prepare for simultaneous detection, Friday, July 9th.
The detector team that went to the community, he said, was expected to be able to quickly detect residents suspected of being exposed to COVID-19 so as not to spread it to others.
Therefore, clinical trials must be carried out by a team of detectors in the field such as saturation, checking blood pressure, and body temperature. If there are residents whose body temperature is above 37 degrees, then further examination will be carried out.
"15,306 Detector personnel have been prepared to visit residents from house to house in all RTs throughout Makassar City. The goal is to be able to directly monitor the condition of residents to determine their status," he said.
He explained that there are five thousand RTs in Makassar, and each detector team is placed by two task forces accompanied by health workers to be able to carry out testing on residents to determine whether their status is positive or negative.

The Mayor of Makassar also asked for the consistency of the subdistrict head and head village including the head of the public health center in supporting the Detector team that went directly to the community.
"Please, tonight re-check the readiness of each region. If there is a need or need that is not immediately coordinated with the relevant stakeholders. All must synergize and work together," he said.
