JAKARTA - The government will soon revise the regulations regarding the criteria for essential, non-essential, and critical sector companies that can carry out office activities during the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

The plan for the change was taken after the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM Coordinator by Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, held a coordination meeting on work from office (WFO) arrangements with ministers, governors, regional police chiefs, and regional commanders throughout Java and Bali.

"The Emergency PPKM Coordinator has proposed revisions for areas that can be included as essential and non-essential sectors such as critical to be more in line with the Emergency PPKM period", said Spokesman of Ministry of Communication and Information, Dedy Permadi, in a virtual press statement quoted Between, Wednesday, July 7th.

The proposed revision of the criteria for the office sector includes:

1. The financial and banking sectors are proposed to only cover insurance, customer service-oriented banks, pension funds, and financial institutions.

2. The information and communication technology sector includes cellular operators, data centers, the internet, post, and media.

3. Export-oriented industry. The company must show proof of sample documents for Export Declaration of Goods (PEB) for the last 12 months or other documents that show export plans and are required to have an Operational and Industrial Activity Mobility Permit (IOMKI).

"All the fields mentioned above can operate with a maximum capacity of 50 percent of the staff", said Dedy.

Meanwhile, the proposed critical sectors include:

1. Health

2. Public safety and order

3. Energy

4. Logistics, transportation, and distribution, especially for the basic needs of the community

5. Food and beverages and their supports, including those for livestock or pets

6. Petrochemical

7. Cement and building materials

8. National vital object

9. National strategic projects

10. Construction project

11. Basic utilities such as electricity, water, and waste management

"In the field of health and security and public order, it can operate maximally with the presence of 100 percent staff without any exceptions. For the energy sector to basic utilities, it can operate 100 percent with a maximum staff of only construction products and services to the community", said Dedy.

There are also office operations that aim to support operations, staff attendance is a maximum of 20 percent.

"In a short time the Minister of Home Affairs will immediately revise the regulations for the essential and non-essential sectors and critical ones as mentioned above", said Dedy.
