Airlangga Hartarto Praises The Chinese Communist Party, Lasts For A Century And Beyond

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party welcomes the virtual gathering of political parties from around the world initiated by China. The meeting was on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on July 6. The chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, praised the CCP for being able to last for a century and beyond.

Airlangga Hartarto, Chairman of the Golkar Party who was the representative of the Indonesian party who was invited to the virtual event, appreciated this meeting. He views it as an entry point for the world political party dialogue space in exchanging ideas and views related to issues that occur in various countries.

Through this forum, various ideas were discussed to create a solution state policy in all sectors of people's lives. Because political parties are the spearhead for the creation of regulations in a country.

"The Golkar Party, as a party with long experience in coloring Indonesian politics, understands very well that the resolution of various current state problems must be through multilateral forums," said Airlangga in his statement to VOI.

He also stated that the forum, which was initiated and facilitated by China, is a future model of how the relationship between political parties between nations needs to be carried out so that there is a common perception in finding solutions to increasingly complex global problems.

"This forum is also part of the implementation of relations between Indonesia and China, which have historically experienced closeness and have very strong cooperation", added Airlangga Hartarto.

Relations between Indonesia and China have been cordial so far. China's investment in Indonesia is one of the largest from any country. Likewise, the value of Indonesia's exports to China is very large.

According to Airlangga, the Chinese government itself has done a lot of real and realized cooperation in various fields. Some of the cooperation with China, for example in infrastructure, mining, technology, and other fields, has been able to invest a total investment value of 3.5 billion dollars.

"We also really appreciate the increasingly intensive Business-to-Business relationship that has resulted in a lot of progress, not only for China but also for Indonesia," said Airlangga.

Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Airlangga also saw the strengthening of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China, which has quickly realized various health aids since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country of Indonesia to this day.

Indonesia is also committed to buying vaccines from China and currently distributed are Sinovac and Sinopharm, following other types from that country.

China is also actively assisting the Indonesian state from medical devices to medical equipment to help deal with COVID-19 so far.

"Through this forum, we really appreciate how China builds multilateral relations based on togetherness between partner countries. All initiatives to improve the economy after COVID-19 are urgently needed. China has succeeded in forming a common unity among nations to resolve various solutions to the major impacts of this pandemic", said the Coordinating Minister for the Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.

In this forum, the Golkar Party also promoted a research institute called the Golkar Institute to China. Airlangga hopes that the Chinese government can establish various collaborations in the form of dialogue and discussion spaces between Indonesian and Chinese professional academics. Exchange of speakers or presenters, as well as making a joint research center on various issues will greatly strengthen bilateral relations between the countries within the Golkar Institute.

"The Golkar Party hereby always welcomes the relationship between Indonesia and China, hopefully, this relationship will be able to become one of the strengths of the nations in Asia", said Airlangga Hartarto at the end of his speech.
