DKI Provincial Government Provides Free COVID-19 Coffins At Petamburan TPU

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service provides free coffin facilities for residents who died due to confirmed COVID-19.

Head of the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department (Kasudin) Mila Ananda said the coffin was stored at the Petamburan TPU, Central Jakarta.

"So it is indeed the duty of the Parks Service to prepare the coffin, along with delivery to the designated TPU. The location is at the Petamburan TPU as a storage warehouse," Mila said when quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 6.

Mila explained that the provision of free coffins for COVID-19 bodies has been running since the pandemic broke out in Indonesia, or around March 2020.

The distribution of free crates from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is carried out through health facilities, such as hospitals, health centers, to 42 sub-districts throughout DKI Jakarta.

"It has been connected to the Parks Service, so if there are patients who die from COVID, they have been connected and connected to the Black Cross Service," said Mila.

Provision of this coffin is free of charge, unless the family wants a special coffin, or a number of hospitals have provided a coffin.

In addition to free crates, the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service also provides vehicles to transport COVID-19 bodies.
