The Air Temperature In Banyuwangi Feels Cold, This Is The BMKG Explanation

BANYUWANGI - The air temperature in the Banyuwangi area, East Java has been cold in the last few days.

A resident of Kebalenan, Rizky, said the air temperature was cooler than usual days. Especially at night and in the morning.

"It's not as cold as usual. I've never used a blanket before, now I'm wearing it", he said, Tuesday, July 6.

According to him, the cold air temperature was also felt by other family members at home.

Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) weather forecaster, Ganis Dyah Limaran, said the cold air temperature in Banyuwangi was a normal phenomenon.

People usually call it the Bediding phenomenon.

"This usually occurs in July-August which is called the Cediding phenomenon, the air temperature at night is cooler than usual", she said, Tuesday, July 6.

She explained that the cause of this cold temperature was due to the strengthening of the Australian monsoon which brought cold and dry air to Indonesian territory.

The second factor, currently cloud cover is difficult to form during the day. So that the hot temperature on earth at night is directly reflected.

There is also a recorded temperature of at least 22 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, under normal conditions, the minimum temperature is in the range of 23.5 to 24 degrees Celsius.

"The appeal is because the air is cold, use blankets and thick clothes, be aware of the drop in body temperature", she said.
