Bogor Regent Asks Minister Of Health To Immediately Pay IDR 261 Billion In Arrears Of COVID-19 Handling Fees

BOGOR - Bogor Regent, Ade Yasin, said that until now the claim for the cost of handling COVID-19 patients worth IDR 261 billion has not been paid by the Ministry of Health. This arrears disrupt the process of health services in the region to the people in the region.

"I have vented and asked for an acceleration of direct payments to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Mr. Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. We have a lot of need for medicines, oxygen, and others. This cannot be fulfilled, the money has not been disbursed", said Ade Yasin, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 5th.

According to him, the IDR 261 billion was receivable from the Ministry of Health for the four Regional General Hospitals in Bogor Regency. Of this total, the number of claims that are still in dispute is around IDR 200 billion, while IDR 61.9 billion has passed verification but has not been paid.

The claim recap worth IDR 61.9 billion, which has passed the verification of BPJS Kesehatan (insurance) and the Ministry of Health, is divided into IDR 40.5 billion from Cibinong Hospital, IDR 7.5 billion from Ciawi Hospital, IDR 6.4 billion from Cileungsi Hospital, and IDR 7.9 billion from Leuwiliang Hospital.

"Hospitals accept COVID-19 patients. They are given the maximum possible service because they are borne by the Ministry of Health. But it turns out, many of the claims submitted were rejected, the difference is more than half", said the Head of the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force.

Ade Yasin revealed, not all financing claims submitted by hospitals can be liquidated 100 percent. Because, only COVID-19 patients with treatment for 14 days can be claimed for the treatment costs.

"Hospitals are limited in facilities. So every COVID-19 patient with moderate and severe symptoms who are then treated, before 14 days the symptoms subside or become mild, We recommend that you go home and self-isolate, so that other patients with moderate and severe symptoms can receive treatment. There is a priority scale that is served", she said.

Now, according to her, with increasingly deflated finances, hospitals must struggle with the availability of existing medical support equipment. Ade Yasin also hopes that the central government will pay attention to local governments.
