ED's resistance action occurred when he was about to be arrested on Sunday, July 4 at around 23.45 WIB. ED is a resident of Hamlet IV, Banuayu Village, Lubuk Batang District.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ogan Komering Ulu Police (OKU) AKP Priyatno accompanied by the Head of Public Relations AKP Mardi Nursal explained that the suspect ED is a DPO who has been the target of operations (TO) of the OKU Police since the last few years.

"The suspect ED is indeed known to be disturbing with the various crimes he has committed in OKU Regency," said Priyatno in Baturaja, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 5.

Based on community reports at the OKU Police, there were six cases of theft (Article 363 of the Criminal Code) and persecution (Article 351 of the Criminal Code) that the suspect had carried out since 2017.

In the 2017 case, the suspect managed to steal IDR 250 million in cash with the crime of breaking glass at the TKP Air Gading Village, Baturaja Barat District.

Then, the suspect also committed a criminal act of persecution in the same year with the mode of stabbing several victims at the TKP Banuayu Village, Lubuk Batang District, OKU Regency.

Furthermore, in August 2020, the suspect carried out the theft by breaking into a house and taking a cell phone unit belonging to a resident of Sukajadi Village, East Baturaja District.

In December 2020, the suspect again committed the crime of theft by weighting with the mode of breaking glass and flat tires in Sukaraya Village with a victim loss of Rp. 115 million.

Not only that, in April 2021 the suspect also committed a criminal act of stabbing in Banuayu Village, Lubuk Batang District, which resulted in injuries to the vital organs of the lungs.

"This is what makes suspect ED a DPO of the OKU Police," he said.

From the results of a fairly long investigation, members of the OKU Police Resmob received clues to the whereabouts of the suspect.

However, when he was about to be arrested, the suspect tried to run away and fought back by opening fire at officers.
