HET For COVID-19 Drugs Determined, Deputy Walkot Armuji Asks For Strict Action For Naughty Sellers In Surabaya

SURABAYA - The government through the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has set the Highest Retail Price (HET), for medicines for COVID-19 patients. Because from the findings of the Ministry of Health in the field, there are people who are looking for profits in the midst of the current pandemic disaster.

Through the Decree of the Minister of Health Number HK.01.07/MENKES/4826/2021, various types of Covid 19 therapeutic drugs have been listed. These include Favipiravir, Remdesivir, Oseltamivir, Invermectin, Azithromychin and Intravenous immunoglobulin.

Deputy Mayor of Surabaya, Armuji, appreciated the central government's decision which was considered to be able to stop the drug price game by distributors and sellers.

"Almost every day I get complaints related to Oxygen, ambulances, hospitals and drugs. This decision is right to ensure that drug distribution remains under control," said Armuji, in Surabaya, Monday, July 5.

Armuji said that until now, there is still no clinically proven drug that can treat COVID-19. However, there are several drugs that have been used in the treatment of COVID-19.

"Indeed, previously in the market the price of drugs for COVID-19 therapy had soared. Therefore, with this Minister of Health's decision to guarantee the distribution of drugs at affordable prices for the people," he said.

Therefore, Armuji believes that this decision is a reference for the authorities to take firm action against sellers and distributors who sell above the predetermined price.

"If rogue sellers and distributors are found, the authorities (police) can take firm action to ensure the safety of the people of Surabaya," he said.
