Indonesian Politician Mourns The Death Of Rachmawati Soekarnoputri

JAKARTA - The sad news came from the daughter of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno, Rachmawati Soekarnoputri. Rachmawati died at the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto, Central Jakarta, at around 06.15 WIB.

Having the full name Diah Pramana Rachmawati Soekarno, she was born on September 27, 1950. According to reports circulating, Rachmawati died due to exposure to COVID-19 after she was hospitalized.

It is known that during her lifetime, Rachmawati was Deputy Chair of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees and was directly under the position of General Chair Prabowo Subianto since last September 2020.

This sad news was also conveyed by the Chairperson of the DPP Gerindra Sufmi Dasco through his Twitter account. "Sad news, Inalillahi wa inalillahi rojiun. On July 3, 2021, at approximately 06.45 WIB. Mrs. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri has died at the RSPAD," he said.

Deputy Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Board of Trustees, Fadli Zon, also expressed his condolences. "Inalillahi wainnalilahi raajiun. Goodbye, Ms. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, I really feel like I've lost a discussion partner at the dinner table almost every month. A person who is firm in opinion, sided with the people and finally always thinks about Papua. God willing, husnul khotimah. Al Fatihah," said Fadli.

Likewise, politician Yusril Ihza Mahendra, who not only expressed his condolences, but also told how Rachmawati was in her life. In a nutshell, Yusril said that, "Bu Rachma also respects differences and she realizes it all boils down to one goal," he tweeted.

There was also the Deputy Chairperson and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party DPP, Habiburokhman who offered condolences. Finally, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said that Indonesia had lost the nation's best daughter at this time. "Innalillahi wainnailaihi ro'jiun. We are grieving again. Indonesia has just lost the best daughter of the nation, Mrs. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, the daughter of our first President, Ir. Soekarno," said Sandiaga.

"Thank you for all the services you have given to this nation. We will never forget your never-tiring fighting spirit," he added.
