Bambang Soesatyo Calls Community The Key To The Success Of Emergency PPKM, Let's Defeat COVID-19

JAKARTA - Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo supports President Joko Widodo's steps to implement emergency PPKM in Java and Bali which is valid from 3 to 20 July 2021 as an effort to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Indonesia.

"The Emergency PPKM policy is very appropriate to apply, so that the spread of the COVID-19 virus can be brought down immediately," said Bamsoet in Jakarta, Friday, July 2.

Nevertheless, the chairman of the 20th DPR RI emphasized that no matter how good the policies issued by the government, they will not have a big impact if they are not supported by the community.

"Therefore, the community must support the implementation of this Emergency PPKM!" said Bambang.

Bamsoet, as he is called, unraveled the tightening contained in the emergency PPKM rules.

Among other things, all teaching and learning activities are carried out online. The implementation of eating/drinking activities in public places, both those located in separate locations and those located in shopping centers/malls, only accepts delivery/take away and does not accept on-site meals.

The implementation of construction activities operates 100 percent by implementing stricter health protocols. Places of worship, public facilities, public areas, public parks, and public tourist attractions are temporarily closed.

"Art/cultural activities, sports and social activities that can cause crowds and crowds are also temporarily closed," explained Bamsoet.

In addition, it applies 100 percent work from home (work from home) for non-essential sectors. For essential sectors such as finance and banking, capital markets, payment systems, information and communication technology, non-COVID-19 quarantine handling hotels, and export orientation industries, a maximum 50 percent of staff working in offices (WFO) with health protocols is applied.

"For critical sectors such as energy, health, security, logistics and transportation, the food, beverage and supporting industries, petrochemicals, cement, national vital objects, disaster management, national strategic projects, construction, basic utilities, as well as industries meeting the basic needs of the community. Every day, 100 percent of staff are allowed to work in offices with strict health protocols," said the deputy chairman of the Golkar Party.

In addition, he added, for supermarkets, traditional markets, grocery stores, and supermarkets that sell daily necessities, operating hours are limited to 20:00 local time with a capacity of 50 percent of visitors. Pharmacies and drug stores can be fully open 24 hours.

Public transportation and rental/rental vehicles are enforced with a maximum capacity setting of 70 percent by implementing stricter health protocols. Domestic travelers who use long-distance transportation modes in the form of planes, buses and trains, must show a vaccine card (minimum vaccine dose I) and H-2 PCR for planes and Antigen (H-1) for other long-distance transportation modes.

"With the awareness of all parties implementing this Emergency PPKM, we hope that the spread of COVID-19 can be immediately suppressed," concluded Bamsoet.
