Surabaya Student Alliance Rejects Online Schools, Supports Face-to-Face Schools Still Held In July

SURABAYA - The Surabaya Learning Alliance (APS) supports face-to-face learning (PTM) to continue in July. APS refuses if face-to-face schools are replaced by distance learning (PJJ) or online.

"If PJJ is continued, then Merdeka Learning is just nonsense for students. In the end, students are only bombarded with assignments, assignments, and assignments without intensive and interactive communication from their teachers," said APS Chair, Mirza Akmal Putra, in a written statement, Tuesday, June 29.

Mirza considers PJJ or online learning not optimal, because it does not improve the quality of education and students. In fact, PJJ only gives a burden, be it mental or physical burden to students.

"PJJ makes as if the harmonious relationship between teachers and students has disappeared," he said.

Based on a survey by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), out of 1700 students, 76.7 percent of students admitted that they did not like learning from home. Then 73.2 percent of them stated that the task given was quite heavy, and 79.9 percent of students wanted interaction with the teacher.

"Students should not be silenced and feared by COVID-19. It is precisely with this PTM that students can be educated effectively about COVID-19. Don't just joke about the dangers of COVID-19, then make students victims of educational systematics," said Mirza.

Mirza hopes that the COVID-19 Task Force will begin to touch students in schools by forming a COVID-19 Task Force in every school. Where the COVID-19 Task Force at this school is required to contain students at the school, and teachers as their companions.

"I think OSIS, PMR, UKS, Rohis, and Scouts can be mobilized to act as the COVID-19 Task Force. So, students are also moved to protect themselves, their friends, and their extended family at school. his movements. Students must be truly independent," he said.
