Fallen Trees Due to Rain and Strong Winds in Medan, 2 Officers Haji Adam Malik Hospital Killed

MEDAN - Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds made several trees in front of Haji Adam Malik Hospital in Medan downed.

From the video circulating, it appears that the fallen tree hit the yellow public transport car number 62.

In addition, a fallen tree fell on a silver private car. The car was badly damaged.

Head of Public Relations of the Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Rosario Dorothy Simanjuntak, when confirmed, said that two employees of the Adam Malik Hospital in Medan died and two others were injured.

"There were no victims in the private car because it was empty. There were 4 employees of Adam Malik Hospital who were in public transport cars, 2 died", she said, Monday, June 28.

Rosario explained the fallen tree occurred in two places, namely in front of the Adam Malik Hospital Administration building and in front of the Adam Malik Hospital Central Medical Unit building.

"The victims who died named Teja and Lisda were administrative staff and nurses in the surgical department. As for the injured victims, they were nutrition staff and integrated diagnostic staff", she said.

The incident occurred when 4 employees took public transportation after work. However, the public transportation they were traveling in was hit by a fallen tree.

"We, Adam Malik, are grieving, all four of them are women and were evacuated by the hospital and residents", she concluded.
