Central Lampung Deputy Regent Reported For Dancing And Singing Without Mask, Polda: We Hold Cases

JAKARTA - The Lampung Regional Police said that they would first study the public's report regarding the viral video of the violation of the health protocol (prokes) by the Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Central Lampung, Lampung Province, Ardito Wijaya.

"The report has been received, of course we will study it first. After studying it, the steps that must be taken will be taken," said Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Hendro Sugiatno, in Bandarlampung, as reported by Antara, Monday, June 28.

He ensured that Lampung would process reports from the community according to the stages in order to take the right steps.

"Later, we will hold a case first to take appropriate steps. As for the examination of witnesses, we have not done it because the report was only received by the police yesterday, maybe it has just entered the special criminal section, so no witnesses have been examined," he said

Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of Central Lampung Ardito Wijaya admitted that the video of the prokes violation that went viral on social media was him attending an event at a relative's house. In the video, he is seen dancing and singing without wearing a mask.

"I would like to apologize to the residents of Central Lampung Regency as well as the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) and the government for their actions that should not have been taken as Deputy Regent," he said.

However, he said that previously he had conveyed to the public or invited guests who were present at the event to continue to comply with health protocols.

"This is a valuable lesson for all of us, especially for me so that in the future it can be even better," he said.

Previously on social media, it was crowded with the actions of the Deputy Regent of Central Lampung, Ardito Wijaya, who sang and made a crowd with a number of residents at a wedding without heeding health protocols.
